Ecco outlet Brussels: looking for Ecco shoes in soft leather at an affordable price? At Outlet Chaussures Bruxelles, on Place du Jeu de Balle in the Marolles, you will find them at fixed outlet prices. Below you can read what sets the Danish brand apart, which models we stock, from sneakers and lace-ups to boots, how to look after the leather and why you pay less with us.

What makes Ecco different

Ecco is a Danish shoe brand known for two things: soft leather and comfort for long days. These are shoes for people who walk a lot, stand for hours or commute every day, and who would rather not feel their feet by the evening. The design is understated, with clean lines and colours that are easy to combine.

Much of that comfort comes from the pairing of leather and sole. The leather gives with the foot, and the sole is flexible enough to bend with every step.

Comfortable does not mean medical, though. If you have foot pain or a particular foot condition, please see a doctor or podiatrist first.

In our shop, Ecco sits alongside five other brands: Geox, Naturino, Primigi, Valentino and Voile Blanche. Each one is introduced on our brands page.

Ecco sneakers

Leather sneakers are probably the best-known Ecco shoes. On our shelves you will find them in white and burgundy, among other colours, with a clean upper in smooth leather and a sturdy rubber sole. They go with jeans, chinos and even a relaxed suit.

A leather Ecco sneaker is not a running shoe. Wear it around town, at an office with a relaxed dress code, when travelling or on a long walk through Brussels.

When you try on a pair of trainers, check three things: your toes have room at the front, your heel stays in place as you walk and the leather does not press on the top of your foot. Walk up and down the aisle a few times. Our full range of sneakers, across all our brands, is covered in our article on our sneaker outlet in Brussels and on our sneakers and trainers page.

Ecco for work and the city

If you go to the office every day, an Ecco lace-up in smooth leather is a safe choice. It looks smart enough for a meeting but wears like a shoe made for the whole day. In black it goes with a dark suit; in brown, with chinos or jeans.

Brussels adds its own challenges: cobblestones, metro stairs, the walk between the station and the office. That is where a flexible sole and leather that moves with your foot make the difference. The classic models and how to wear them are covered in our article on dress shoes for work, a wedding or a party.

Mainly looking for men’s shoes? You will find the full range, beyond Ecco, in our article on our men’s shoe outlet in Brussels.

Ecco boots for winter

From autumn onwards, leather Ecco boots become the obvious choice. An ankle-high shaft keeps out the wind, and leather protects better against the wet than fabric. Some models are lined, others waterproof or water-repellent: this is stated on the box or label, and it is not the same thing.

A water-repellent boot copes with a shower; a waterproof one copes with a puddle as well. When choosing a winter boot, look at:

  • the tread of the sole, for grip on wet cobblestones and slippery pavements;
  • the lining, if you spend a long time outdoors or waiting for a tram or bus;
  • the fastening: laces give a more precise fit, a zip is quicker on and off;
  • the label: lined, waterproof or water-repellent.

Try winter boots on with the socks you will actually wear in them. A thick sock can make the difference between your usual size and the size up. More tips for cold, wet days are in our article on winter shoes in Brussels.

Caring for Ecco leather

Soft leather only stays soft if you look after it. Brush your Ecco shoes after each day’s wear, give them a day’s rest and use shoe trees, ideally cedar. A thin layer of cream once a week, neutral or matching the colour of the leather, keeps it supple and prevents cracking.

Treat new shoes with a protective spray before you first wear them, and repeat in autumn and winter. If your Ecco shoes are nubuck or suede, never use cream or polish: only spray, a crepe brush and a suede eraser. Stuff wet shoes with newspaper and let them dry at room temperature, never on a radiator.

Clean white leather sneakers with a damp cloth and a white or neutral cream. The full routine is in our leather shoe care guide.

Ecco outlet Brussels: why Ecco costs less here

Ecco is a Danish brand, but we do not buy it in Denmark. We buy in bulk in Italy, directly from large retail chains, and sell those shoes in our Brussels shop at discount prices.

These are new shoes, in their original box, from the chains’ recent collections. Our prices are fixed and permanent, all year round, with no temporary promotions. Across the whole shop, they range from about €20 to €150.

Because we buy in volume, the same model is often available in many sizes, but the range changes with each delivery. So do come and try: a 42 from Ecco does not always fit like a 42 from Geox, and only your own foot can tell you which size is right.

You will find us at Place du Jeu de Balle 40, on the flea market square, open every day from 9.30 am to 4 pm, Sundays included. For directions by metro, tram or bus, or on foot from Brussels-Midi (South) station, see our shop and directions page.

Ecco: frequently asked questions

Is Ecco a Danish or an Italian brand?

Ecco is a Danish brand. We buy its shoes in bulk in Italy, directly from large retail chains, and sell them in our shop on Place du Jeu de Balle at fixed outlet prices.

Are the Ecco shoes in your outlet new?

Yes. All our shoes are new, in their original box, and come from the recent collections of the chains we buy from. The lower price comes from buying in bulk.

Do Ecco shoes run small or large?

It depends on the model, and also on the type: sneakers, lace-ups or boots. Start from your usual size and, if in doubt, try the next size as well. In the shop you can compare several sizes side by side.

Are Ecco boots waterproof?

Not all of them. Some models are waterproof, others water-repellent or simply lined; this is stated on the box or label. If in doubt, ask us while you try them on.

Can I try on Ecco shoes on a Sunday?

Yes. We are open every day from 9.30 am to 4 pm, Sundays included, at Place du Jeu de Balle 40 in the Marolles. On a Sunday morning, it combines easily with the flea market on the square.
