Kids’ shoe outlet in Brussels: quality Italian brands for less
Kids shoes outlet Brussels: when your children’s feet grow faster than their shoe rack, the search starts again every season. At Outlet Chaussures Bruxelles, at 40 Place du Jeu de Balle in the Marolles, you will find new children’s shoes from Italian brands such as Naturino and Primigi, alongside Geox models, at fixed outlet prices. This article explains why an outlet makes sense for kids’ shoes, what you will find for each age group and how to make the fitting go smoothly.
Why an outlet makes sense for children’s shoes
Children change shoe size often, sometimes before the shoe has even worn out. Paying full price for a pair that will only last a few months is an expense that keeps coming back. An outlet lets you stick with a good shoe, in leather or from a well-known brand, without turning every new size into a budgeting exercise.
The way we work is simple. We buy in bulk in Italy, directly from large retail chains, and sell those shoes in our store in Brussels at discount prices. They are new pairs, in their original box, from the recent collections of those chains.
Our prices range from roughly €20 to €150 a pair, depending on brand and model. They are fixed, permanent prices all year round, with no temporary promotions, so there is no need to wait for a particular time of year when a foot has grown. The full story is on our page How our outlet works.
One word of caution: a shoe, even a good one, is not a treatment. If your child has sore feet, walks unusually or you have any doubts, see a doctor or a podiatrist first.
What you will find for each age
Our children’s section runs from first steps to the larger teenage sizes. Exactly what is on the shelves depends on the stock we buy in Italy: the range changes with every delivery, but you will usually find the categories below.
| Age | What you will find with us | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| First steps | Light leather shoes with a thin, flexible sole | A sole that bends easily and a fastening that holds the foot in place |
| Nursery and reception | Velcro trainers, lined ankle boots for winter, sandals for summer | A fastening the child can open alone and a sturdy toe |
| Primary school | Sneakers, lace-ups, ankle boots, sports shoes | A sole with good grip and a material that is easy to clean |
| Teenagers | Sneakers and dress shoes in the larger sizes | The fit: some already wear adult sizes |

Naturino and Primigi are two Italian brands that specialise in children’s shoes and are known for their flexible soles and their use of leather. We cover them in detail in our article on Naturino and Primigi. Geox rounds off the range with sneakers and shoes featuring the brand’s well-known breathable sole.
Would you like to see the whole range before you come? It is on our Kids’ shoes page. For teenagers who already take a large size, it is also worth browsing our women’s shoes and men’s shoes sections.
Trying shoes on with your child
A child’s shoe is chosen with the child. That is why we only sell in our store: no online shop, but shelves full of sizes and models, where you can compare several pairs side by side in a few minutes.
Before you come, measure your child’s feet at home with a sheet of paper and a pencil. Our guide to measuring children’s shoe size explains the method step by step, and our shoe size conversion chart converts EU, UK and US sizes. Sizes vary from brand to brand: the measurement is a starting point, the fitting settles it.
In the store, we suggest checking the following:
- Try on both shoes, with the child standing up and wearing the socks they usually wear.
- Leave roughly a thumb’s width between the longest toe and the front of the shoe.
- Check that the heel does not slip out when the child walks.
- Check the width: the foot should not bulge over the sole or feel tight at the sides.
- Let the child take a few steps down the aisle and watch how they walk, rather than simply asking whether the shoes feel fine.
The store is open every day from 10 am to 3.30 pm, Sundays included. Early in the day it is usually quieter, so you can try shoes on at your own pace; we list the best times in our article on our opening hours.
We are right on the square of the Place du Jeu de Balle flea market, about fifteen minutes on foot from Brussels-Midi (South) station. STIB metro, tram and bus services stop nearby (Jeu de Balle and Chapelle stops); all the details are on our Store and directions page.
School, sport and special occasions
A child rarely gets by with just one pair. Depending on what the shoes are for, the priorities change.
School and everyday wear
A school shoe is worn five days a week: in the playground, on the pavement and sometimes in the rain. Choose a closed, sturdy shoe, preferably in leather or in a material you can wipe clean with a damp cloth. Velcro suits little ones who dress themselves; laces can wait until the child knows how to tie them.
In autumn and winter, a lined or water-repellent ankle boot is a real help on wet Brussels cobblestones. If you are getting ready for September, also read our back-to-school shoe tips.
Sport and PE
For sport, children need light sneakers or trainers that hold the foot well, with a sole that grips. For PE lessons, check what the school asks for before you buy. A pair kept only for sport wears out more slowly than one that also does daily duty in the playground.

Parties, First Communion and weddings
For a First Communion, a wedding or a family celebration, your child will need smarter shoes. They are often worn only a handful of times before they are outgrown, which is exactly where an outlet price makes sense. Have your child try them on with the socks or tights of the outfit, and let them wear the shoes at home for a while before the big day.
Frequently asked questions: kids shoes outlet Brussels
Are your children’s shoes new?
Yes. All our children’s shoes are new, never worn and sold in their original box. We buy them in bulk in Italy, directly from large retail chains, from their recent collections.
Which children’s shoe brands do you stock?
You will mainly find Naturino and Primigi, two Italian brands that specialise in children’s shoes, as well as Geox. The models and sizes available change with every delivery.
How much do children’s shoes cost at your store?
Our prices range from roughly €20 to €150 a pair, depending on brand and model. They are fixed outlet prices all year round, with no temporary promotions.
Does my child need to come along to buy shoes?
We strongly recommend it, because only a fitting shows whether the shoe holds the foot properly. If that is not possible, bring an outline of their feet drawn on a sheet of paper and their foot length in centimetres.
Can I buy your children’s shoes online?
No, we only sell in our store at 40 Place du Jeu de Balle in Brussels. We are open every day from 10 am to 3.30 pm, Sundays included, and answer your questions by email through our contact page.
